Little Shadow is a London-based graphics company, specialising in GFX and Motion Graphics for commercials and broadcasting. Their passion and desire is to create the fantastic. Their strength lies in the design, creation and blending of bespoke graphics, with visual effects and animation. From concept development, title design and explanatory graphics to character animation, effects, digital worlds and anything in between.
Review the homeworking arrangements for all of their staff, to ensure that each employee had the correct home set-up and was safe in their home environment.
Assist Little Shadow in making their workplace COVID-19 Secure for their Employees and Contractors to return safely to their workplace.
Ensure that there were officed-based risk assessments available.
Update their Health & Safety Policy documentation to ensure legal compliance to current requirements.
Initially, we were asked to assist with the homeworking arrangements for their staff who were shifting from working in the office to their homes. Ensuring that each person had the correct home set up was key and so, we assisted in providing a homeworking assessment and, Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Home Assessments. This included one-to-one coaching and support for staff.
Then we provided step-by-step advice to ensure their workplace was COVID-19 Secure, so enabling staff to go back to their office at the right time. We provided the guidance and support to ensure that everyone was ready to return with adequate control measures in place. This process included not only the writing of documentation but also providing guidance and advice to gain support from their Landlord too.
We, then, completed office-based risk assessments, which enabled the team to review the hazards associated with the tasks that they complete. Their business activities are very low risk in a low risk environment, but this forms an important part of legal compliance.
The final part of the project was to provide an updated Health & Safety Policy and Procedures Documentation including template forms. This documentation provides the team at Little Shadow, formal guidance and written processes which, previously, may have only been provided verbally and, formalises key Health and Safety processes. Their new systems and procedures can be provided to Contractors and Customers alike, to evidence their commitment to and demonstrate how they are effectively managing their Health and Safety.
